‘I’MPERSONAL’

Lantana

I’mpersonal is a collaborative series by painter Odessa Mahony de Vries, performance-maker Ruby Donohoe, and photographer Warwick Gow, exploring identity, objectification, and the role of the muse. Referencing Yves Klein’s “Anthropometries,” the work critiques societal norms that abstract and dehumanise women. Sourced from a filmed live-painting performance, the series highlights the gradual disappearance of women’s bodies into blue paint, transforming them into abstracted, almost obsolete forms. Through recontextualised stills, I’mpersonal blurs boundaries between subject and object, offering a poignant commentary on the erasure of women within art and cultural narratives.
